The territory of Québec is divided into 29 zones. As zone 25 exists only for fishing, there are 28 hunting zones, i.e. zones 1 to 24 and 26 to 29. In several cases, these zones are subdivided to apply special regulations according to a given species. Hunters must comply with the hunting regulations that apply in these zones as well as with the requirements pertaining to the territories they wish to frequent. The zoning in effect for hunting is illustrated in this publication by 23 zone maps (see Hunting zones maps).
