The integrated and regionalized management introduced by the Department allows regions to play a greater role in land and natural resource development by creating suitable conditions for the implementation of stimulating projects.
The new management includes the creation, in all regions of Québec, of a regional land and natural resource commission (CRRNT). Under the responsibility of the regional conference of elected officers (CRE), each commission will
act as a catalyst in regional development by determining potential for land and natural resource development;
work with the Department to draw up a regional plan for integrated land and natural resource development (PRDIRT) and help implement it;
propose measures for the application of standards and programs that reflect the specific needs of the region.
